About Montana Agency Alliance (MAA)
Montana Agency Alliance is a growing network of Independent Insurance Agencies serving Montana. We offer growth opportunities to agencies wishing to remain independent while being able to compete with larger regional agencies and clusters.
Montana Agency Alliance is a member of the Strategic Independent Agents Alliance, also known as SIAA. Since 1997, SIAA has grown to over $4.6 billion in premium produced by almost 2,500 Independent Insurance Agency Members located in 48 states and Canada. Only 11 domestic Property and Casualty Insurance Companies write more premium than SIAA!
Power in Numbers
During the past several decades, many smaller Independent Insurance Agencies across the country were finding they could not meet volume requirements, keep markets and survive due to changes in the Independent Agency system. It became virtually impossible for experienced agents to create a 'scratch' agency.
In 2000, the Montana Agency Alliance joined SIAA, allowing its member agencies access to top-rated carriers and preferred contracts. This alliance makes it possible for small agencies in Montana to thrive as well as perpetuate. We are constantly negotiating higher commissions with our carriers that benefit MAA members. Cogswell Agency in Great Falls is the Strategic Partner Agency, lending over 70 years of insurance foundation to the structure of MAA.
